People often pray, “I am nothing.” When they have no strength, no ability, or when life becomes difficult, they pray, “Lord, please help me. I am nothing.”
So we ask God to change our lives. We pray for the people who make us suffer to change. We easily see the problems of this person and that person. Sometimes we point them out and demand that others change.
“Lord, please change that person.” “Please change my situation.”
But even after much time passes, sometimes nothing seems to change. Then God begins to turn our eyes, not outward, but inward.
“Lord, please change me.” And at that moment, we begin to realize: “I am nothing.”
This does not simply mean that we have no money, no ability, or no possessions.
Compared to the love of the Lord, compared to the love of Jesus who gave His life for us, compared to the unchanging goodness of God, my love is nothing. My goodness is nothing.
I say I love, yet my heart changes easily. I think I am good, yet my heart changes depending on the situation. Often, I still seek my own benefit first.
But God loves to the very end. Even when betrayed, He responds with goodness. For sinners like us, He gave even His own life.
So the confession, “I am nothing,” is not a confession of despair. It is a confession that before the love of God, my love and my goodness are still far too small.
“Lord, even though I have changed much until now, my love is still lacking. Please change me more.”
Jacob was also like this. A great threat was coming toward him. He prayed for the danger to disappear. He wanted the situation to change. He wanted Esau’s heart to change. But the threat came even closer and became more fearful.
Then at the Jabbok River, Jacob prayed.
“I am nothing. I am like a worm.”
This was not simply a cry of fear. Before the goodness and love of God, Jacob realized how lacking he was, and he desired to be changed by God’s love and goodness.
Today also, may we offer the same prayer as Jacob.
Not, “Lord, change them first,” but, “Lord, please change me.”

हम अक्सर अपनी प्रार्थनाओं में कहते हैं कि “हे परमेश्वर, मैं कुछ भी नहीं हूँ”, क्योंकि हम जानते हैं कि हमारे अंदर अपने आप में कोई सामर्थ्य नहीं है। इसलिए हम परमेश्वर से प्रार्थना करते हैं कि वह हमारे जीवन को बदल दे, क्योंकि कई बार हमारा जीवन कठिन हो जाता है।
कभी-कभी हम दूसरों के लिए भी प्रार्थना करते हैं कि “हे परमेश्वर, उस व्यक्ति को बदल दीजिए”, क्योंकि हमें लगता है कि उसी की वजह से हमारे जीवन में परेशानियाँ आई हैं।
लेकिन हमें अपनी प्रार्थना बदलनी चाहिए। हमें यह कहना चाहिए:
“हे परमेश्वर, आप मेरे हृदय को बदल दीजिए। मुझे सामर्थ दीजिए कि मैं हर परिस्थिति में धन्यवाद कर सकूँ और दूसरों को क्षमा कर सकूँ, जैसे प्रभु यीशु मसीह ने हमें क्षमा किया।”
हमें दूसरों में गलती ढूँढने के बजाय खुद में झाँकना चाहिए, अपनी गलतियों को पहचानना और उन्हें स्वीकार करना चाहिए।

Today through this message I realised most pivotal thing. Which is I am nothing before God, before his love, grace, sacrifice. Yes we confess in our prayers that Lord I am nothing but for our benefits becoz then we don’t have strength. When any problem comes we ask God to change our lives or any though situation comes becoz of any person we ask to God to change that person. But our confession should not be like this. Our confession should be before the love of God not a confession of despair. If we compare our love to Lord Jesus Christ it is nothing, compare to the goodness of Jesus Christ our goodness is nothing.
Today I realised that my love is nothing before God, my goodness is nothing before God. He is the only example of Love.
His love is the love that was sacrificed, the love that gave His own blood.
