Many people pray by saying, “In the name of Jesus Christ.” But sometimes an important question comes to mind. Why does the Bible sometimes say “Jesus,” and other times “Jesus Christ”? Is it simply a longer name? Or is there a deeper spiritual meaning behind it? When we understand the difference between Jesus and Jesus Christ, we begin to understand why Satan fears that name.
In India, many names have special meanings. Raju means “king.” Kumar means “son of a king” or “prince.” Santosh means “happiness,” and Prakash means “shining light.” In the same way, names often carry identity and purpose.
So what does the name “Jesus” mean? Matthew 1:21 says: “You shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” The meaning of the name Jesus is salvation. Jesus came to save people from sin. Humanity was on the path to destruction because of sin, but Jesus came into this world in the flesh to rescue us.
That is why Satan constantly tried to stop Jesus during His earthly ministry. He tempted Him in the wilderness. He attacked Him through people. He even tried to stop the cross itself. Satan knew that Jesus came to save humanity from sin.
But the story did not end at the cross. Jesus died, but on the third day He rose again. This is the resurrection. And through the resurrection, Jesus was revealed as Jesus Christ.
The word “Christ” is not Jesus’ last name. “Christ” means “the Anointed One,” “the King,” and “the Messiah.” Through the cross and resurrection, Jesus defeated the power of sin and death and was revealed as the true King.
Philippians 2:8-9 says: “He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name.” And after His resurrection, Jesus declared: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” (Matthew 28:18)
Jesus is not merely a prophet or teacher. Jesus Christ is the risen King who defeated death, broke the power of darkness, and now holds all authority in heaven and on earth. That is why darkness fears the name of Jesus Christ.
Many Christians understand this in their minds, but they do not use the authority of that name in daily life. A driver’s license is useless if a person never drives. In the same way, many believers know the name of Jesus Christ, but they live in fear, worry, and discouragement because they do not walk in the authority of that name.
When you lose something important, pray in the name of Jesus Christ. When doors seem closed and problems look impossible, pray in the name of Jesus Christ. When sickness, fear, spiritual oppression, or darkness attack your life, call upon the name of Jesus Christ with faith.
The important thing is not simply repeating the name. The important thing is believing in Him and walking with Him.
Jesus Christ is still alive today. And there is still power in the name of Jesus Christ. Darkness retreats before His name. Fear is broken before His name. Hopeless situations can change before His name.
Live today in the name of Jesus Christ. The name above every authority in heaven and on earth is Jesus Christ alone.

Really I was don’t know about difference between Jesus and Jesus Christ. Everytime, when I will have problem so I will pray in the name of Jesus. And, I trust that my lord Jesus Christ will help me to staying far away the devil from my life. Amen 🙏🏻

इस संदेश के द्वारा मैं यह जान पाई हूँ कि प्रभु यीशु मसीह ही इस धरती पर उद्धारकर्ता के रूप में आए थे। उन्होंने समस्त मानव जाति के पापों को अपने ऊपर ले लिया और तीसरे दिन मृतकों में से जीवित होकर पुनः जी उठे।
प्रभु यीशु मसीह राजाओं के राजा और प्रभुओं के प्रभु बन गए तथा सम्पूर्ण मानव जाति के मसीहा ठहरे। उन्होंने मृत्यु के बंधनों को तोड़ दिया और मनुष्य के उद्धार का मार्ग खोल दिया।
