Does Watching the Sunrise Really Change Your Life in the New Year?

As people watch the rising sun at the beginning of a new year, they place many expectations upon it.
They climb to places with a wide view to watch the sunrise or listen to the ringing of bells, hoping for a future that feels better and different from the days that have passed. Because darkness naturally hates the light, and because people know that when light comes, darkness must retreat, they may be drawn so passionately to the sunrise.

Then what is the true meaning of the light that we must truly face?

The Bible says,
“The Light has come into the world, and the world did not recognize Him.”
That Light is the Word of God. Only when the light of God’s Word remains in our hearts does true transformation begin.

Scripture gives us a very solemn warning:
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
(1 Corinthians 6:9–10)

When we hear and read this Word, the light of the Word exposes the darkness that has been hidden deep within our hearts. If someone continues to practice such things and yet feels that life seems to be going well, we must realize that this is not a blessing but rather a more serious and dangerous condition. A life cannot become whole while walking in the works of darkness.

The purpose of writing this is not to judge or condemn anyone.
I want to share how our lives can be truly transformed, and how we can be guided toward a life that is freed from problems and suffering. The way is clear. When the light of the Word reveals deeds of darkness, we must stop them immediately and instead begin to practice the truth. As darkness retreats from our hearts, the darkness surrounding our lives—our problems and even sickness—also begins to leave.
