Many people ask God for blessings. They want a job, health, and solutions to family problems. But there is something we must check first. It is basic obedience. It is keeping the Lord’s Day and giving tithes. God’s Word is a promise. God keeps His promises. He protects, heals, answers, and blesses those who obey Him.
The Lord’s Day is a day God set apart as holy. This day is not our time. It is a day given to God. God created for six days and blessed the seventh day. When we keep this day, we receive blessing from God the Creator. It is also the day we declare that Jesus Christ is the Lord of our life and salvation. When we keep this promise, we live as children of God. God also protects us through the week.
Many situations can come that make us miss the Lord’s Day. But people easily compromise. “I am tired today. Let me rest.” “Just this one time is okay.” Sometimes there is temptation. “If you work on Sunday, you will earn double.” At that moment, a choice of faith is needed. A person who believes in God does not compromise. Even if it looks like a loss, he chooses God. Keeping the Lord’s Day is not just attendance. It is acknowledging that God is the Lord of my life.
Some people keep the Lord’s Day well, but sometimes miss once or twice. Then they think, “Just this one time is okay.” But when this small compromise repeats, the heart becomes dull. Daniel prayed without change. In the same way, we must value and keep the Lord’s Day in every temptation and difficulty. At first we are weak. But we continue to keep it. Step by step, we keep it more fully. This is spiritual growth.
Tithing works in the same way. Everything in this world comes from God. Air, sunlight, water, health, life, and even our income come from God. Tithing is a confession of faith. “This is not mine. It belongs to God.” This is not just about money. It is about ownership. By giving tithes, we declare that God is the source of our blessing.
Some people say, “I work hard. Why do I not receive blessing?” Then we must look at ourselves first. Are we keeping the Lord’s Day? Are we giving tithes? God is just. He protects and leads those who acknowledge Him and obey Him.
There was a couple. They had no child for 12 years. The reason was repeated miscarriage. They prayed much, but there was no answer. Then they decided to keep the Lord’s Day in every situation. The wife was weak and could not move easily. When she was 7 months pregnant, her husband was not at home. She had to go alone. The road was rough. The car shook a lot. There was fear of miscarriage. But she believed, “Life is in God’s hands. God will protect.” She kept the Lord’s Day. After a long time, they had a healthy baby. God keeps His promises.
There was also a brother who could not find a job for a long time. Each day was uncertain. He did not know what would happen tomorrow. Giving tithes without a job was not easy. It was a decision to give what he needed for the next day. Because of this, there were times he might have had to walk because he had no money for transportation. Still, he did not calculate. He did not look at his situation. He chose God. When he gave with faith, the next day he received a call from a company. They asked him to work. He experienced that God takes responsibility for his life and protects him.
Keeping the Lord’s Day and giving tithes are not options. They are the foundation of faith. When we acknowledge God, God takes responsibility for our life. Through the Lord’s Day, we give the authority of our time. Through tithing, we give the authority of our money. This is the beginning of blessing.

We ask to God for blessings and we forget the basic obedience and It is keeping the Lord’s Day and giving tithes.
When we obey him, he promised that he will protect us, and answer of our prayers.
Why do we keep Sunday holy?
Becoz, God created for six days and blessed the seventh day.
And It is also the day we declare that Jesus Christ is the Lord of our life and salvation.
We should never defile Sunday under any circumstances.
When we fail to keep the Lord’s Day holy even once, we may think, It’s just one time, what difference does it make? But because of this, trials begin to enter our lives, and we start repeating the same thing again and again. Eventually, it becomes normal for us. That is why we must keep the Lord’s Day holy and take rest in Christ. This means listening to God’s Word, attending services, and praying. 🙏🏻
