There was a family whom God chose and used in remarkable ways. It was the family line of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, and David.
This family had one important characteristic.
They did not live only for their own benefit. They cared for what had been entrusted to them as if it were their own. They did not merely do the minimum required of them. They went one step further so that the people and responsibilities placed in their care could prosper.
This attitude was a common characteristic of God’s chosen servants.
Abraham Put the Other Person’s Benefit First
As the livestock of Abraham and Lot increased, conflict arose between their herdsmen. In such a situation, the older and more powerful person would normally choose the better land first. Abraham was the head of the family, so no one would have questioned his right to make the first choice.
However, Abraham allowed Lot to choose first. “If you go to the left, I will go to the right; if you go to the right, I will go to the left.”
Although Abraham had the right to choose, he placed Lot’s benefit and their peaceful relationship before his own advantage.
God’s chosen servant does not use authority only for personal gain. Such a person considers the needs of others and desires that those working alongside them also prosper.
Isaac Started Again Even After Losing His Wells
Whenever Isaac dug a well and found water, the Philistines came and claimed it as their own. In such a situation, people would normally become angry, fight to the end, or become discouraged and refuse to try again. Isaac, however, did not spend all his strength fighting. When one well was taken, he moved and dug another. When another conflict arose, he moved again and started over.
Eventually, God gave him a spacious place where there was no conflict, and Isaac prospered. God’s chosen servant does not abandon the mission simply because the way is blocked. When one path closes, such a person finds another path and begins again.
Jacob Cared for Another Man’s Flock as His Own
Jacob cared for the flocks of his uncle Laban. No matter how much the flock increased, it still belonged to Laban. In such a situation, people usually do only what they are told. When a loss occurs, they may say that it is the owner’s responsibility.
Jacob, however, endured the heat of the day and the cold of the night as he protected the flock. When an animal was torn by wild beasts, he personally bore the loss. Although the sheep were not his own, he cared for them as if they were.
God’s chosen servant does not neglect something simply because it belongs to someone else. Whatever God has entrusted to that person is valued, protected, and handled responsibly.
Joseph Made Every Place Better
Potiphar’s house did not belong to Joseph. The prison was not a place he had chosen, and the grain of Egypt was not his personal property.
In such circumstances, people often think, “This is not my responsibility,” or, “I only need to do what I was told.” Since Joseph had been unjustly enslaved and imprisoned, he could easily have complained and done the bare minimum.
Joseph, however, treated every responsibility as if it were his own. He managed Potiphar’s household faithfully. In prison, he handled every task responsibly. Later, he managed Egypt’s grain and saved countless lives during the severe famine. Wherever Joseph went, the place became better than it had been before.
God’s chosen servant does not merely complete assigned tasks. Such a person helps the people, work, and place entrusted to them prosper.
David Did Not Give Up Even One Sheep
David cared for his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear carried away one sheep, most people would have let it go. It was only one sheep among many, it did not belong to David personally, and fighting a wild animal was extremely dangerous. David, however, chased the animal and rescued the sheep from its mouth.
In a field where no one was watching, he risked his life to protect even one sheep entrusted to him. God saw his heart and later entrusted the people of Israel to him. God’s chosen servant does not consider small things unimportant. Such a person values every responsibility, every person, and every soul entrusted by God.
The Heart of God’s Chosen Servant
Abraham put another person’s benefit before his own rights.
Isaac did not give up when his work was blocked but began again.
Jacob cared for another man’s flock as if it were his own.
Joseph treated responsibilities that were not his own as if they were and made every place prosper.
David refused to abandon even one sheep entrusted to his care.
In a company, church, or organization, we must first learn to do the work assigned to us faithfully. We cannot expect to receive greater responsibilities if we cannot handle the basic duties already given to us.
However, as time passes and we gain experience, we should not remain people who act only when someone gives us instructions. In such situations, people often say, “My responsibility ends here,” or, “No one told me to do that.”
But God’s chosen servant looks for what is still needed. Such a person prepares before problems arise and takes one more step so that the whole work can succeed. This does not mean acting however we please or interfering with another person’s authority. It means thinking and acting responsibly so that the purpose of the work entrusted to us can be fulfilled.
God looks for those who consider the benefit of others, remain faithful in small things, care for what belongs to others as if it were their own, and willingly do more than the minimum required.
Throughout the Bible, we can see that God chooses and uses people with this kind of heart as His chosen servants.

Is Vachan ke dwara Main Jaan Pai ki Jis Tarah Abraham IshaHak aur Yusuf aur daud ne dusron ke kamon ko Aise Kiya Jaise uska khud ka ho pure Hriday ke sath unhone Apne kamon Ko pura Kiya esi Prakar se hamen bhi Apne kamon Ko pure Hriday ke sath Vishwas yogyata se karna chahie fir Chahe vah Kisi bhi chatre Mein Kyon Na Ho fir Chahe vah Hamare business ke liye ho ya Hamare job ke liye ho ya apne ghar mein ho ya FIR Hamare church ke liye Hamen Is Tarah Se karna chahie Jaise vah Hamara Hi Kam Hai
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and David are examples of how God wants us to be. They possessed the qualities and characteristics which is why God made them his chosen servants. They put others before themselves and never cared for their own benefit. Abraham cared for others more, even though he was the head of the family, he still gave Lot the better land because he cared for him and did not use his authority for his own benefits. Isaac never gave up and knew God would always be with him every step of the way. God saw that Isaac wasn’t discouraged even after the unfairness of the Philistines and eventually Isaac prospered because God saw that he did not give up. Jacob didn’t neglect or ignore the flock of sheep of the owner. He cared for them even if they were not his own. This shows that Jacob didn’t care whether the sheep were his or someone else’s, he still looked after them because he was responsible and caring. Joseph didn’t let his spark die and shone even in the darkest of times. He helped people, saved countless lives and was kind all the way. David knew the value of life even if it was a sheep’s life. He left an entire flock to get that one sheep back. It shows how David values every single soul and isn’t one who procrastinates with lives.
All these characteristics are the characteristics God loves in a human. We must start small and not want something greater in the next second. For greater things come with small beginnings. We shouldn’t be arrogant, ignorant or rude while doing our work and responsibilities. God chose these men as his servants because they had the qualities of a man who is capable of creating wonders and makes people’s lives better instead of worse and all while believing, trusting and obeying God.

Today through this Quite Time I realised one thing that everyone whom God chose had one thing in common, they thought of others before themselves and carried out their responsibilities with honesty and faithfulness. I also want to become like that someone who serves God’s work sincerely, cares for others, and puts others before myself. I want to offer God a pure n truthful heart, one that pleases Him.
